The Physics Team is a small tutoring business, not a large company. One teacher runs it, with a website to deliver lessons and show parents how their child is doing. We collect the information needed to do that and nothing else, we don't sell it, and there is no advertising anywhere on this site.
This page is written in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email abdallah.amr202236@gmail.com and you'll get a straight answer from a person.
What we collect
When a student registers
Name, email address and mobile number, plus a password which is stored only as a secure hash — we cannot read it, and neither can anyone who obtained a copy of our database.
When a parent registers
Name, email address, mobile number and password, on the same terms, plus the email address of the child they are asking to follow. A parent sees nothing at all until the teacher has approved that connection.
While a student uses the courses
How far through each lesson video they have watched, and which lessons they have completed. This is what makes “continue where you left off” work and what a progress bar is counting.
From Google Classroom
If the teacher runs a course through Google Classroom, we read the class list, the assignments and exams that have been set, whether each student turned work in and when, and the marks the teacher has released. We read this; we never write to Classroom and cannot change a course, a class list or a grade.
How we use it
- To run your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
- To deliver the courses — showing the right lessons and remembering your progress.
- To build the progress report a parent sees: assignment status and exam results for their own child.
- To send necessary emails — verifying an address, resetting a password, security notices, and telling a parent whether their request was approved. We do not send marketing email.
Who can see it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. There is no tracking for advertising on this site.
A parent can only ever see their own child, and only after the teacher has approved that link. If the link is later withdrawn, access stops immediately. The teacher can see the students enrolled with them. Students see only their own work.
Running the site relies on a few service providers, who process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
- MongoDB Atlas — hosts the database that stores accounts and progress.
- Google — Classroom for coursework and marks, and Drive for storing lesson videos and notes.
- Resend — delivers the account emails described above.
We would also disclose information if the law required it, which has not happened.
Google Classroom data
The Physics Team's use of information received from Google APIs follows Google's API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
The teacher connects their own Google account once, and grants read-only permission to their Classroom courses, class lists, coursework and student submissions, and to the email addresses on those class lists. The email address is what lets us match a Classroom student to their account here.
That information is used for one purpose: showing a student's own progress, and showing an approved parent their own child's progress. It is not used for advertising, it is not sold, it is not transferred to anyone else, and it is not used to train any AI or machine-learning model. Marks the teacher has entered but not yet released are never shown — if a parent can see a grade, the student can already see it in Classroom too.
We read this data when a report is opened rather than keeping our own copy of it. The teacher can disconnect the platform at any time from their Google account permissions, which stops all further access immediately.
How long we keep it
We keep account and progress information for as long as the account is open, so a student can pick a course back up later. Ask us to delete an account and we will remove it and the progress attached to it. Some records may sit in routine backups for a short period afterwards before being overwritten.
Children
This platform is used by school-age students, which is exactly why parent access is approved one connection at a time by the teacher rather than granted automatically to anyone who asks. If you are a parent or guardian and want to see, correct or delete what we hold about your child, email us and we will help.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Write to abdallah.amr202236@gmail.com and we will respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how your information is used, we will say so by email rather than quietly editing this page.
